My question is why is this couple listed in the Allerton "Silver Book"?  I am finding no connection whatsoever to the Mayflower.  Any leads are appreciated!  Thank you - Susan Hutchinson

It would be helpful to know exactly where this information can be found in the Allerton Silver Book(s) or what the context is. I can look at it the next time I'm in the library  I'm a Haskell and an Allerton descendant, but on my mother's side.  The other alternative is to contact the Haskell that's a PM on the profile by private mail.  He has been actively involved in the Haskell Family Association, which has good genealogy records. Also it would be helpful if you added the tag for the Mayflower Project to your question.
I've added the Allerton tag to your message. Perhaps one of the folks who has the Allerton volume can do a look up to see where they're mentioned. It could be something as simple as they were witnesses to a document, part of a land deed, party to a court case.

There is a Mark Haskell in the Allerton silver book, who is a contemporary of the Mark Haskell in this profile....but they are not the same person.  Maybe someone got them mixed up because of the same name.

The one in the silver book (vol 17, p 65) was born in Gloucester, MA, on 16 Sep 1687; d Ipswich, MA, 25 Aug 1775; son of Mark and Elizabeth (Giddings) Haskell.  His marriage intentions to Martha Tuttle (an Allerton descendant) were recorded in Ipswich on 14 Jan 1709.

There are no Tilton entries in the index of this Allerton volume.

Excellent, thank you.

You want these two people removed from the book, whichever of the 24 volumes plus each is in?

I look at Mark's WT profile, I'm not seeing anything says he's ref the Mayflower ... ditto for Jemima Tilton.

There is a WT Mayflower Project. And descendants listed. If you find either one of them listed you can contact the Project Manager

Question for you ? Why do you think this couple is listed in the Allerton Silver Book? If they are, perhaps they could be listed as associates of a Mayflower descendant, as Bobbie mentioned.

There are Haskells who were descendants, I don't know about a mark specifically, and certainly your correct that this one doesn't have a connection.

RE: Removing them from the silver book. WikiTree certainly has no control over what's in the silver books.

I skimmed the first four generations. I don't see Mark or his wives listed as descendants.

Thank you. I didn’t mean I thought they should be removed from the book.  They are in my ancestry and I am actively searching for mayflower connections and found their names but could not understand why.  I’m new here and I’m sorry that I’m naive.

We were all new once, and sometimes questions have to be asked. smiley

Yeah, Susan H.laugh but in my own defense, like I need it?, it did sound like -- what you wrote -- sound like you wanted Mark and Jemima removed from
1) the book
2) or the Project
3) or from WT,
4) or from something somewhere
and none of those 4 would be attainable goals ...

well, MAYBE from the Mayflower Project if you had powerful and convincing documentation and it would have to be very powerful and convincing and even then I'm not sure it wouldn't die in committee while they (whomever) debated it

I was simply asking why their names are listed if neither are descendants.  Sorry for the confusion and for my ignorance.
