Is anyone else more closely connected to Fred Rogers than I am?

I am 19 degrees from Fred Rogers through my Sturgill family.  Is anyone more closely connected to him than that?

not me--I'm 26 degrees and had to go back to 1713 to accomplish that!  Surprisingly few marriages, however!
Well, I'm his neighbor. Does that count? :)
24 degrees and no relation.
If 37 is less than 19 then I'm closer than you, David.
26 apparently and not related but frankly I've never heard of him so doesn't disappoint me too much.
Just added another connection - this one by marriage, so it won't affect blood relationships, but there's an outside chance it might affect someone's path. Unlikely, but you never know. If you had a long-distance connection you might check tomorrow after the links update tonight.
The new connection did change my path! Interesting! Still the same 26 degrees, but not going so far back in time to accomplish it
I got him as my 9th cousin once removed. We share only one set of ancestors: Mr. and Mrs. John Pottenger.

crying -- do we count how far away we are? I'm so far away from him that we're NOT within 100 degrees of each other.

Not blood kin either which isn't surprising

Tom Hanks is.
I AM Fred Rogers albeit not the one you are interested in. I descend directly from both Thomas and Joseph Rogers who sailed on the Mayflower in  1620. They were aboard the Speedwell and when it was decided that she was not seaworthy enough (too leaky) to make the voyage they joined other separatists on the Mayflower. Thomas died the first winter  and Joseph carried the name on along with other family members who came after 1620.

Nope - 24 degrees. No blood relationship that the relationship finder can find.

Hm - my connection moved to 22 degrees. I added a pretty minor connection, but it's possible someone else added some too. Still no blood relationship as of yet.

I win! (so far) Much to my surprise I'm a fifth cousin once removed to Mr Rogers. Common ancestor is Hans Neuenschwander, Swiss German immigrant to U.S. (my branch moved to Canada in 1834).
