GREAT Webpage That Makes Searching Taos Parish Vital Records (Birth, Marriage, Death) Easy And Fast To Find

+3 votes

A genealogy angel named Karen Mitchell ( and the volunteers she organized have alphabetized Taos County Parish vital records, both church and public, going all the way back to 1700.  Alpha’d records makes finding your ancestors' birth, marriage, and death records very easy.  I have included an example at the bottom on this post.  Because the dates are included, it also makes searching FHL film records for the original record easier and quicker as well.

Another unique feature of the alpha records is that Ms. Mitchell/her group carefully researched vital records of roughly 100 surrounding small towns and villages of the greater parish area and alpha’d those names as well.  Adding birth, marriage, and death records from the entire Taos Parish countryside to the webpages’ alpha’d databases really makes this a valuable genealogy research tool.  There are even a couple of specialty databases, like the names of (Taos County) 1918 Flu Epidemic victims (that one ‘sidetracked’ me).

All-In-All, this website of alpha’d Taos Parish vital records is awesome and should be a ’go-to’ resource site for anyone doing Taos area genealogy work.  Here is the access url for the Taos County Resource Page by Karen Mitchell and her volunteers:

When I began my maternal ancestry search, Karen Mitchell's site was invaluable. As a "newbie", I learned so much from her site and am forever grateful to her and the volunteers!
