Where is the proof that Edmund Carlisle-122 is the son of Robert Carlile-123?

I am seeking a source, document, anything that would connect my ancestor, Edmund Carlisle-122 with his father. Someone has linked Robert Carlile-123 as his father, but I don't see anything that would nail that down for sure. HELP!

Carolyn, are you interested in looking at any Find A Grave information on the Carlile family? You can click on the below link, then look at her parents, then up the line to Robert. Does this help?

It's been a month since I asked the person who posted Carlile-123 as the father of Carlile-122 what source document he has that shows their relationship. So far, no response. Edmund is not mentioned in Robert's will in Virginia, nor have I found a deed or any other record mentioning Edmund. What do I do about it?
Rodney, findagrave is not a reliable source. Anyone can create a memorial for someone without any source documentation to back it up. The memorial doesn't even have to be for a gravesite!  It's easy to link two people with their memorial number IDs and there be no relationship in fact. Sad, but true.

Carolyn, just a quick look at this shows no documentation of a father/son relationship. This may be seen in any number of Ancestry trees but none that I saw show a shred documentation...and many cite Find-a-Grave which as you pointed out is not of itself a source. At the very least, I think the relationship should be marked Uncertain and a notation placed on the profile that there is currently no documentation of the relationship.

Add North Carolina to the tags and let's see if Pip can come up with anything.
