Searching for my father's father. Believe he may be Edward Ortha Swain Can someone please help me?

My father was born in 1919 and placed in a Greensboro, NC orphanage, He was adopted within 3 months and raised in North Carolina. Two years ago we discovered his mother was. Her husband was not the father. My brothers and I are trying to figure out who our birth grandfather was. DNA connects us to the Bedford, VA area and we are connected to the Swains, Wits, Creaseys.... Currently Edward Ortha Swain is a good candidate for being our unknown grandfather. BUT we do not know this.

My brothers and I are on Ancestry, FTDNA 23 and me, Heritage and  gedmatch. Both brothers have done Y-dna If anyone here is a relative of Edward Ortha Swain, have you tested?  Can anyone help me move forward? I am lost.

Thank you to any and all suggestions.

Valerie,
if you do a search for Edward Swain here in WikiTree you will find a profile for Edward Otho Swain (1891-1974). It is managed by his grand niece, who has a badge for "DNA tested". She last added something to WikiTree back  in May and will probably not be following G2G, but you should be able to send her a private message from Edward's profile.

thank you
You're welcome, I've added a bit of research back on the Swain line for your ~possible ~ connection. There was only the one Swain line in Bedford VA early on and George (my ancestor) was a bit of a scondrel and engaged in dubious connections and land transfers with young women, ended up marrying one of them, transferred land to 2 sisters for "favors".

But I have not connected you to him ...yet.

Best bet is his son James O B Swain. Then next generation.
