Looking for parents or any further information on John H Reed

So I'm pretty certain he was born in Ohio approximately April 18 1823. He married Mary Ann Jennings on September 26th 1843 in Portage County Ohio. He had four sons: Seth, James, Warren, and Orson Wells Reed. He died 13 August 1856, and was buried in Ossian Wells Indiana. Sadly I can find no further information, like the names of his parents and their origin. I would love to learn more. Like why he decided to move all the way to Indiana? Where are his parents from?

There were quite a few Jennings and Reed in the history of Portage county https://archive.org/details/historyofportage00warn/page/n5, but John or his wife Mary Ann didn't seem to appear.

From her gravesite, Mary Ann married second Hezekiah Allen. There might be a clue in finding son Orson Wells Reed in the 1860 census, perhaps with a family member. He doesn't seem to be in the 1860 census with Mary Ann and Hezekiah, but appears with them in 1870 and 1880.

"United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M4N4-6XD : 13 December 2017), Mary A Allen in entry for Hezekiah Allen, 1860.

"United States Census, 1870", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MX6L-6MZ : 8 June 2019), Mary A Allen in entry for Hezekiah Allen, 1870.

"United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MHSY-6VN : 19 August 2017), A Mary Allen in household of Hezekiah Allen, Jefferson, Wells, Indiana, United States; citing enumeration district ED 141, sheet 38A, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), FHL microfilm 1,254,323.

That's what I was afraid of. I've already found Orson Wells Reed . I'm his great-great-grandson. His father is particularly tricky like you mentioned. Thanks for your input and help.
Researching Orson's brothers might yield some clues.
