The Mercury Monday 2 April, 1973, page 9, under the heading of "BIRDER 'S FATAL ATTACK' - 'A MUTTON - BIRDER died of a heart attack on Slopen Island, off the north - west tip of Tasman Peninsula, on Saturday. He was Jack Lansdowne Woolley (56), of Corinth St, Howrah. Police said Mr Woolley had the attack about 11 am. Saturday was the opening of the Southern Tasmanian mutton- bird season.'
