I’d like to join the project.  At least two of my ancestors served in the American Revolution, and one served (and died in service) in the War of 1812.

Hi Edward! Thanks for joining our Project. I've awarded you your badge. Check out our task list here. Jump right in. We look forward to your participation!

I would like to join. In the over 8000 people in my family tree, quite a few were in the military. Including President Thomas Jefferson, many Military Officers, and a lot more privates in the infantry.
I would like to join. My dad served in Vietnam from 69-71. His dad served in WWII by lying about his age to enlist in the Army. He was later stationed in Germany & Korea (after the wars). My grandmother was an Army nurse when my dad was born. Her father was a Japanese POW in WWII. Another great grandfather was drafted for both WWI and WWII. I have traced other ancestors to the War of 1812 and the Revolutionary War (fairly confident on that one).
Hi, my name is Chris,I am a veteran and a avid genealogist . I would like to join this project as I am very proud of all my ancestors that served.in battle. My 5th great grandfather Abraham Heath served in the Virginia 6th regiment of the Revolutionary war from Dec. 1775 to 1783.
I would like to join,  I have relatives who fought in almost every war. My Great Great Grandfather was a Captain in the CSA during the Civil War and his Grandfather and Great Grandfather fought in the Revolutionary War. And my Great Uncle was in the 101st Airborne during WWII on D-day in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Also a few other relatives and im proud of them all.
Hi - today and tomorrow is the anniversary of the Battle of Fromelles. I asked elsewhere on G2G for some help to remember those who were killed and we have already made progress.

At the moment I am working on a freespace page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Battle_of_Fromelles_(1916) and I would appreciate any participants
I am particularly interested in learning more about my Maternal Grandfather, who served with the British and Canadian Armies in WWI.  He was an Engineer and Marksman and was gassed at either Ypres or the Somme. His brother also served, but I'm unsure with whom.

My Father joined the Cape Breton Highlanders and served in the First Canadian Division in Italy and Holland.

My Maternal Uncle served with the Canadian Engineers in Holland.

All of which is to say that I would like to join both WWI and WWII. Thanks!
I would like to join.  My gg grandfather George Patterson b. 1773. d. 1844.
Sept 23, 1796, Co. F, 3 Illinois Cav.
Also War of 1812
This info is on his grave stone.
I would like to join the ANZACS project as part of being a participant in the Australia project. I have already added what I know about any of my family who served during war time but would like to contribute more to profiles of ANZACS.
I would like to join, my late husband was a tanker in VietNam 1970-1971. I help widows file claims for DIC if their husbands die from GBM brain cancer like my husband did.

I would like to join the Military and War project to learn about my ancestors' service in the French and Indian War, the American Revolutionary War, the Civil War and WWII.  Most people don't believe me when I mention I have identified over 20 ancestors who served in the American Revolutionary war.  In fact, I will soon add a link to each of them at my home profile page.  Consequently, I am very proud of my patriotic heritage and I would be honored to include a 1776 badge on my home profile page to reflect my interest in this project.  As a proud American who believes this is and always will be, the best country in the world, I look forward to using this project to learn more about not only my patriotic ancestors, but others as well.  I truly believe being called an "American" is the result of the achievement of my ancestors and words cannot express my gratitude to them.  Thanks.

I would like to join the WW II project because my great-uncle, Sidney A Swift, was a Captain in the Corps of Engineers during World War II. He was killed when his unit, the 1392nd engineer forestry company was shelled outside of Monschau during the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest. He was the only casualty.

I served in the US Navy from 1977-1995. My father served on a minesweeper in the Navy during Korea. One uncle retired from the US Air Force in the early 1970's. Another uncle served on an aircraft carrier and a cruiser in the US Navy during Vietnam, while yet another served two tours in Saigon as a Marine during Vietnam.

I would like to join and add my project Space:Cold_War as a sub-project, along with my projects Space:41_for_Freedom and Space:USS_Lafayette_SSBN_616.

I have three direct, proven ancestors that contributed to the American Revolution.  Each have descendants that are DAR.  I want to bring them up under the protective umbrella of the 1776 project, so when I source the profiles someone can't come along and delete all my primary references to their RWS.  They are  Bailey-25585, Dobson-3271 (sic: Dodson), and Ragland-697.  So, yes, please count me in.

I served in the British Royal Air Force for 28 years around the world. My father served in the Norfolk Regiment during the 20's in Bermuda, Egypt, India and China. My maternal grandfather served in the Royal Flying Corps in WWI and his sons served in the RAF and Royal Engineers in WWII.

I am interested in the MIA's. Missing in Action, no known graves. Is there a separate Category?

I would like to join the 1776 Project. I am working on one of my great grandfather's Runions-37 who served in the Revolution as a Patriot. Shortly after the war he migrated north to Ontario, Canada and ended up serving in the War of 1812 for the British.

I have at least two other known 6x great grandfather's who also served and/or provided civil services during the Revolution.

The Military tradition continued through the generations, with two great grandfather's serving in the Civil War,  and later my Uncle's served in Korea, my father was in the Air Force during peace time and my son in this latest conflict.

My grandfather William Jenner Powell (Powell-14365) served in France during WWI as a Major in the Army Corps of Engineers. Hello, Robert,

MMC(SS) Retired. Qualified on Lafayette in Jan 1980; plankowner and EWS on USS Alabama SSBN 731, last boat was Key West SSN 722. Glad to see you here.

Gary Christopher
Hi Gary,

Thanks for replying. Good to hear from you. I was on the 617 (Alexander Hamilton) in the late 60s early 70s. First qualified on the Tirante SS420 out of Key West. Even spent some time    submerged with the commissioning crew on the Florida SSBN728 conducting casualty drills  between launch and commissioning. Seems we have a few overlaps.

Best regards,

Bob

I would love to join, as I have (currently) 5 generations going back 160 years with military service, starting with :

1st Cousin (5 times removed) - Frederick LEE - 2nd Regt of Foot (1859-1867), then 105th Regt of Foot (1870-1878). Served in China, India and Aden

G Grandfather - James LEE - 3rd Battn, Royal Berkshire Regt, (1894-1900). Mobilised to Africa (2nd Boer War) with 2nd Royal Berkshire  Regt (1900-1902). Then joined the Royal Army Service Corps (1915-1917), serving in France before being discharged overage.

Grandfather - Leonard George LEE - Royal Artillery (LAA) (1941-1946). Served in North Africa

Dad - Leonard James LEE - Royal Army Ordinance Corps (1946-1950)

GG Uncle - James Henry LEE - RN 1915-1928

And finally me - RAF Police (1983-1992). Then joined the Army Reserve (1997-2019). Served in Northern Ireland, 2nd Gulf War and Afghanistan.

So - a family tradition...… Hopefully there won't be too many Colonial era Redcoats in my tree, as I reckon I'm well outnumbered! :-)

I am Mark Rogers, descendent of Rhodam Rogers who fought in the Revolutionary War. Also Rhodam's Grandfather was married to Elizabeth Mason who, after John's death was re-married to a Dr. Daniel Jenifer and were the parents of Daniel "of St. Thomas" Jenifer, Revolutionary war participant and Signer of the Constitution.

I thought I did this already, but I guess I didn't answer correctly.

A much beloved patriarch in my family, Rhodam Rogers (Rogers-29796) served in the revolutionary war.

It is a time period of great interest to me because it is so rich in history. I also have another person connected to my family tree (a half brother to Rhodam above), Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer (Jenifer-12) who not only fought in the revolutionary war but was a signer of the Constitution.

I would like to join the 1776 Project. Sorry if I omitted pertinent information in my previous post.

Thank you,

Mark Rogers (Rogers-29787)

My father was a Fleet Air Arm pilot in the Royal Navy during and after WW2, and I also joined the RN.  I noted that only one entry appeared in the category Royal Naval Air Station, and it struck me that there was scope for further work there.  I was advised to join the group so that I could help to improve the sub-categories of Royal Navy.
