This month’s Bio Builders Challenge theme is families with multple births - twins, triplets, etc. You can do either or both parents. Everyone have fun.

Thank you for your support.

Here's our checklist:

Data Section:

  • birth date/place
  • names of parents
  • marriage date/place and spouse name
  • names of children, if any
  • death date/place

Biography Section:

  • Written (full) sentences stating the facts above, adding inline sources to each fact.
  • Is the profile '''Genealogically Defined?'''
  • As a general rule biographies should be in your own words. Paraphrase and rewrite, don't copy/paste.
  • Baptism, burial, military, and other life events with inline sources.
  • Something to "humanize" the person, such as career or avocation with sources.
  • List of children with at least one pertinent fact.
  • Some list siblings. (I think this takes up real estate.)
  • Explanatory remarks, if needed (e.g. disputed persons information, Research Notes, whatever needs extra explaining).
  • Photos or pictures, background. Not a must, but nice (you need to own the copyright unless they are in the public domain).
  • Categories.
  • Connection to the Global Tree.
  • All duplicates merged or initiated.
  • Links to persons and events, perhaps from Wikipedia.
  • Historical context as related to the person's life.
  • Sources, Sources, Sources.

You can see some ideas on where to find some of this information on the Biography Builders space page.

Use "comments" below to ask questions.

NOTE: Biography Builders will not show on the tracker. Please add a list to your answer.

WikiTree profile: Space:Biography_Builders

P.S. Suggestions for future themes are ways welcome, especially if they tie into, or help, a Wikitree Project.

Thanks Janet! Twins run in my family and I found a wonderful picture of triplets in my Grandmother's things. I never knew about the template!

Didn't know there is such a category, but do now and found it - thank you.
I didn't know of this category either but found it last night and added it to the four profiles

I'll probably skip this month. It's Christmas, but also, while twins run in my family, I'm not sure of an easy way to find them in my tree. If I happen to run across any as I work on improving some of the other profiles, I'll come back here and post them.

I don't have time to do these at the moment, but Silas Haskell and William Henry Haskell b. 1833 in Maine were twins.  They both could use a lot of work because I did them when I first joined Wikitree.

I don't think I have a single twin in my family. Well maybe a few obscure ones that I wouldn't be able to find. Anyway I found a couple that needed bios and research.

My Dad was a twin and so was one of my mother's sisters, both their twins died in infancy, but I'll work on those profiles and on their parents.

I know I do have twins somewhere in my tree - and I have categorised them, so should be able to find them. I have yet to discover any triplets - I am guessing there were quite rare in the 17-1800s

I have a set of triplets that my Grandmother had a postcard of that were born in 1914. I posted the photo because I had no idea who they were. I still have not connected them to my family. Project?

#1 Mary Ann Bachell and her husband

#2 George Court had one set of twins who survived infancy.

Through research on the Genealogy of my  Murray Line,  my father's side, I have found that as far back as 1840-41, which is when complete census’ began, there have been 3 sets of boy/girl twins born.

The first that I found was in 1857 to  my 2nd great grandfather, WILLIAM MURRAY AND MARY ANN BARWISE of Cumberland, England; the births being:  James and Catherine Murray.

The second was in 1901 to my grandfather, GEORGE MURRAY AND MARY  DAVIS  of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the births being, my father,  Walter Malone  and Mary Ann (Pauline)  Murray.

The third was in 1956  to  my sister, Betty Murray Hankins  and Harold Walker Rinehart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania;  the births being:  Sharman Elaine and Gary Wayne Rinehart.

On my Mother's side, the Weir's, I found 1 set of boy twins born in 1885.

Helen, thanks for writing up biographies.  It really helps improve the tree.  You can make it easier for Bob by numbering the profiles you completed.  You can do this by simply editing your reply.
