I have information to contribute to the profile of Alexander (Dunbar) Dunbar of Grangehill. This is what I can add:

These are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Graeme, have you proposed the merges on the profiles themselves. ( using the merge proposal procedure)?

Also, in your question, it is blank where you need to put what you can add and what sources you are using:

This is what I can add:

When I tried to merge the existing profile didn't appear and then I was advised to ask for advice because it was pre 1700.

I don't have anything to add except to change birth and death dates but I can do that directly with Bob Heddle the profile manager. The problem results from notification of duplication coming up when I was entering Alexander Dunbar and his wife and parents.

The profiles for [Brodie-5178 & 445] and [Dunbar-4291 & 1849] are already proposed and awaiting the profile managers approval.

I did notice that [Dunbar-4292 & 1850] weren't submitted for a proposed merge so I had just submitted them myself and it's awaiting the profile managers approval.

Please keep in mind that, for each proposed merge, after 30 days has elapsed, without any action from the profile managers, the WikiTree system will automatically merge them because those said profile managers would have been considered unresponsive.

Thank you very much for taking the time for this and Good Luck!

Just an FYI Graeme Donald...

The proposed Dunbar profile merges appear to have been approved.

The Brodie profiles are still awaiting approval from the profile managers, but, the proposed merge was submitted on 2 Dec 2019 and, if it goes without any action by the profile managers in 30 days, the WikiTree system will automatically approve the merge.

Good Luck! :-)
