can we get this merge unstuck?

Does this let you see the comparison?

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:MergePerson&user1_name=Rocheron-47&user2_name=Rocheron-34&action=compare

It looks to me as if the sticking point is ascertaining the correct date of death.  Does anyone have any evidence one way or the other?

Sources are needed for death date / location.

It looks like it was a family tree on ancestry that had baptism, marriage and death date fir Rocheron-34.  If death date is close to 1703 / 1705, there is a problem with the children on Rocheron-47 that were born after that date.  Unfortunately, none of the PM seem to be active lately on wikitree

The correct death date is 22 Nov 1739. She was buried on 22 Nov 1739 in Riviere Ouelle, the parish of L'Assomption, Quebec,  wife of Jacques Gagnon. The burial record can be found on Ancestry.com, unfortunately I cannot share the URL here.

Rivière-Ouelle, Canada, Nouvelle-France Céleste.  Autrement c'est un anachronisme.  wink

There is a 22 November 1739 parish burial record for Marie Magdeleine Rochon, "femme de Jacques Gagnon de cette lieu, agée d'environ soixante et quatre ans" at Notre Dame de Liesse, Rivière Ouelle. I haven't located anything comparable for the Montmorency area.

Notre Dame de Liesse parish  register, top of right page.

Montmorency area is a misnomer, just so you know, that is a modern provincial riding designation, and covers a lot of territory.
Thanks, Danielle. The use of contemporary place designations can be very frustrating. I did try for a few of the parishes in that area that would have been old enough but didn't have time to dig.
look in Quebecois project, it has link to sources page which has a list of those parishes.

have set it to merge, will know if it isn't done in a month and can complete it then in worst case scenario.

As a note, the 1703 death date appears to be for her sister Marie.  Or cousin, didn't research further.

The name Rocheron gets shortened to Rochon regularly on records, so be aware of this when doing research.

Thanks Danielle!

I think i will put Rocheron as an alternate name for some of these Rochon profiles.
