Advice before merging these pre-1700 Inyart-Enyard profiles?

Enyard-15 is a duplicate of Inyart-3 (side-by-side comparison) so they should be merged.

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding?

Or perhaps someone with more WikiTree experience would like to complete the merge? Let me know if you do. Thanks!

Hi Rebecca,

Since Inyart-3 is project protected they should be involved in the merge and they should have been notified of the merge proposal since they are PM on the profile. May I suggest you edit the question to add New Netherlands to the tags. If you don't hear from them, drop them a private message from that profile.

Also, it seems little curious that there are no geographic locations for this person when it appears fairly certain where he was at least in certain points of his life. Even an educated guess for location then marked Uncertain is better than no location -- particularly when others are looking for duplicate profiles or researching particular families.

I have completed the merge, but before I did so I had to spend a couple of hours researching this man and his family so I could be reasonably sure I was doing the right thing.  It does not improve WikiTree when we merge profiles with serious deficiencies (no biography; no geographic information; nonsensical dates; massive collections of links to dead websites, malformatted URLs, and Gedcom-generated citations to Ancestry Trees; etc.) without first working to rectify the deficiencies. You do not need to be a profile manager to remove Gedcom clutter, try to look up sources, and do similar tasks that will make it easier to complete an overdue merge like this one.

Although any pre-1700-certified member could have merged the non-PPP profile into the PPP profile, in this case that would not have been advisable.  When a non-PPP profile is connected to parents, spouses, or children who aren't connected to the PPP profile (as was the case here), in order to avoid losing those connections the merge should be done by a Project Leader, a Project Coordinator, or a profile manager of the PPP profile.
