How to clean up Thomas Wheeler 1602-3 Bedfordshire?

0 votes
Amongst other things I am trying to help out merging many of the older ancestors.

I understand the general methodology, but want to be helpful without becoming a pain to different profile managers.

But with many profiles there are multiple multiples - up to 6 - of siblings, or children. I am reluctant to do a merge with these profiles before they are cleaned up a bit.

Should I just do the merge and then take over suggesting merges for the multiples, or should I politely ask the profile manager to clean things up before the merger, or what??

Many thanks.

I've found it the easiest to start as far back as possible, merge the oldest ancestors and then their chldren/spouses, etc. Then go to the next and do the same.

Slowly, cautiously, be aware of every step you take. Unless they are your own profiles, you are trampling on someone else's entries and you must be correct.

If they are not obviously the same profiles, do an unmerged match, this is easier to fix than a mistake. If you're not sure, don't do anything.
