Searching for errors/suggestions using Wikitree Plus

How do I use Wikitree Plus to find errors/suggestions in the profiles I manage?

Specifically, those that contain Data Error 835 External File References?

I have a number of profiles that I know contain External File Errors. My intention was to go back and fix the errors by adding the appropriate file/image. However, they are not showing up on my suggestions list, or in my searches for 835 errors.

An example is Frederick Dolman, who's profile I created  several months ago. I waited for his profile to appear in my suggestion list, to remind me to correct the external file errors. But this profile, and several others, never appeared in my suggestions list. When I search the Data Doctor list for 835 errors, this profile, or any others I recently created, were not there.

I was hoping to find my missing 835 error profile using Wikitree -Plus, but I can't figure out how to do so.

Thanks!

I think the underlying problem is that the external file references on your profiles are not actually generating an 835 error, which is why you can't find any errors when you search for them.

According to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:DBE_835, the test for producing an 835 error is that the biography contains a reference to either "c:\" or "d:\". This is designed to catch the majority of external file references, but obviously won't catch all of them. Looking at the example profile you linked, all of the external file references on that profile are of the form "File: Users/alexstronach/Documents", so they won't actually be picked up by the error checking and therefore won't produce an 835 error.

In the suggestion drop down at the top, select the number that you want to review. Note that they are NOT in numerical order and they are grouped by Suggestion type.

Select Managed By and enter your wikitree ID

Select User Suggestions.

Hopefully that will give you the desired results.

Thanks Linda, however, that's not quite what I am asking for.

I have profiles that have External File Errors, but they are not showing up on any of my searches, or my suggestions list. I intended to go back and add the necessary files, but I am having a hard time finding them. I was hoping I could use Wikitree-Plus to find them.

how about this google search

site:www.wikitree.com Stronach-25 file
by S Stevenson G2G6 Pilot (250k points)

Yes, combined with Paul's answer above the Google search could be:

site:wikitree.com Users/alexstronach/Documents

giving about 75 results

Perfect! this worked well. Thanks very much!

How important is this for you? I can setup a scan for Users/alexstronach/Documents and will have a profile list in a few hours.

I could also extend the scan for local files to find also /Users/ and /Documents/ but those can also be in valid URLs. I can do a scan and see the results.

That's okay, I don't think it will be necessary.

The search that S Stevenson and Jan Terink suggested works well, so no need to set up a scan.

Thanks anyway, I appreciate the offer to help.
