Jeremiah Towns, was born in New Hampshire in 1781 and died in New York in 1872. I would love to find his family and origins.

Are you asking about an existing one-name study for the name Towns?

Hi Don, I am the one who set up the Towns Name Study

Currently, I am working thru the Towns surname files to connect them to my tree. I am a descendant of Gideon Towns   from North Carolina and Georgia in the late 1700s to mid-1800s. We have been able to prove our line to Gideon but after that information starts to get a little sketchy.

Feel free to jump in and help connect the Towns surname profiles.

Gideon Towns MUST be part of my family tree, since my father's name was Thomas Gideon Towns. My line stops with my grgrandfather. Hit a wall & couldn't find any sources to confirm Daniel Towns of North Carolina was father of James Daniel Towns of Georgia, though one past family member said they were directly related. If you have any proven connections, I'd love to connect. David Henry Towns was my grandfather.
Hi Rita,

Gideon Towns, my 3rd Great-grandfather, may have been a nephew of your 3rd Great-grandfather, Daniel Towns. According to the track on FamilySearch. I have not fully researched all of this, so it is just based on what I see.in the tree from other contributors.
