We are 8th cousins once removed and we're 16 steps in Connection Finder.

My 16-step connection to Walter runs through a sister of my 3G grandmother who married a man name Howe -- a relationship that first came to light from investigating a DNA match.

20 degrees of separation. Walter Howe and I, according to the relationship finder, are thirteenth cousins, twice removed. His 12th great grandfather is my 14th great grandfather, both of us having Berkeley relations in our respective ancestral family trees.

I’m Hope’s 7th cousin making me 17 steps. I suspect I’m closer as I come through the Hazard family.

Walter and I are also 8th cousins, twice removed. I expected to be related through the Howe family, since I also have them in my ancestry, but you can't argue with the connection finder (can you?) We are connected through the Dressers. I have to see what went wrong with the Howe's.
