John Garden was a farmer at Rannachy but there are no birth records in the Rathven parish register.

Hi David,

Have you tried the adjacent Parishes to Rathven? Also please note: Some 8 pages of marriage entries from 4 Oct. 1758 to July 18th 1761 are missing in the Rathven Parish register and also 1 page of entries from 26 April 1765 to 17 April 1766 is also missing..

Scotlandspeople ( http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ ) lists 1 entry in the Old Parish Register of Banns & Marriages for John Garden & spouse named Mary between the years 1794 & 1796 in the whole of Scotland.

All the best

On john Garden's b 1775  sister's gravestone it says that her father was John Garden from Rannachy. Sister's name was Margaret. Only place I have come across reference to the father.

Have Mary Symon's parents.

James Symon b 5 March 1728 from burnmouth of Gollochy.

Marjorie Munro 1728 from Arradoul

Hope this fits !
