Is there more than one Marie Adelaide Lefebvre Descoteaux?

I have a bit of a conundrum here and want to be sure my ancestor is connected to the correct parents.

My ancestor seems to be sometimes known as "Arline" and sometimes "Adeline", but for sure is originally a Descoteaux/Lefebvre dit Descoteaux.

She had a marriage to Adolphe Gervais dit Beaudoin on 19 Aug 1850 in Trois-Rivières[2], being listed as Adéline Lefebvre dite Descôteaux, minor.

We had her pegged as the Marie Adelaide Lefebvre dit Descoteaux born to Michel Antoine Lefebvre and Josephte Rouillard on 1831.

*HOWEVER*:

* Would she be noted as a 'minor' on her marriage record if she was born in 1831 and married in 1850 (Age: 19)?

* I am seeing another Family Tree on FamilySearch that has this same Marie Adelaide (B1831) marrying Joseph George Carpentier 21 October 1844 in Trois-Rivieres.

I can't read French nor properly interpret French Canadian/Quebecois records, so I want to be sure - which of these is correct? Do we have a mistaken identity somewhere here?

Thanks for any help!

Here is the marriage record at Familysearch:

"Québec, registres paroissiaux catholiques, 1621-1979," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L99Q-H9SR-V?cc=1321742&wc=HCBM-RM9%3A25042301%2C25229401%2C20149501 : 16 July 2014), Trois-Rivières > Immaculée Conception > Baptêmes, mariages, sépultures 1841-1853 > image 588 of 754; Archives Nationales du Quebec (National Archives of Quebec), Montreal.

Adolphe Gervais dit Beaudoin son of Adolphe Gervais dit Beaudoin and Claire Rousseau to Adeline Lefebvre Descoteause daughter of Michel Lefebvre Descoteause and Josephte Lecomte(???). I'm sure someone whose French is better than mine (which is pretty much everyone) will be able to do a better translation.

In my experience she would generally be a minor if under 21 at this time.Though the age seems to have varied a bit over the years.

The couple Michel Descoteaux and Josephte Lecompte had two other daughters married before 1849 on PRDH (https://www.prdh-igd.com/Gratuit/en/PRDH/Liste/Couple?nh=LEFEBVRE&rsh=OU&sh=descoteaux&ph=MICHEL&nf=LECOMPTE&pf=JOSEPHE&r=False&amin=1844&amax=1848&rl=PM&lieu=6001&pg=1). Adelaide in 1844 (https://www.prdh-igd.com/Gratuit/en/PRDH/Liste/Couple?nf=DESCOTEAUX&r=False&amin=1844&amax=1844&rl=SS&lieu=6001&pg=1) and Angele in 1848 (https://www.prdh-igd.com/Gratuit/en/PRDH/Liste/Couple?nf=DESCOTEAUX&r=False&amin=1848&amax=1848&rl=SS&lieu=6001&pg=1) both in Trois-Rivieres. According to PRDH Michel Descoteaux and Josephte Rouillard had a daughter Marie Adele born in 1818 (https://www.prdh-igd.com/Gratuit/en/PRDH/Liste/acte?n=Lefebvre&rs=OU&s=descoteaux&p=ADELE&r=True&amin=1818&amax=1818&rl=1&lieu=6302&t=b&pg=1) and a daughter Angele born in 1824 (https://www.prdh-igd.com/Gratuit/en/PRDH/Liste/acte?n=Lefebvre&rs=OU&s=descoteaux&p=ANGELE&r=True&amin=1824&amax=1824&rl=1&lieu=6302&t=b&pg=1). I think it's a pretty good bet that Josephte Lecompte and Josephte Rouillard are the same woman. Her name is given as Ronsard at her marriage to Michel in 1815 (https://www.prdh-igd.com/Gratuit/en/PRDH/Liste/Couple?nh=DESCOTEAUX&rsh=OU&sh=lefebvre&ph=MICHEL&nf=RONSARD&pf=JOSEPHE&r=False&amin=1815&amax=1815&rl=SS&pg=1).

lol Paul, her name was Josephe Rouillard dite Lecomte, PRDH has the habit of omitting the ''dit'', and ''modernizing'' names.

minority was 21 until the 1970s here, so yes, would be a minor.

As far as the marriage with Joseph Carpentier, it's her sister, baptized Marie Adèle that one, b 24 Jul 1818 bapt. 25th in La-Baie-du-Febvre.  She is cited of age on the 1844 marriage with Joseph.

It's actually frequent enough that women used another name or a nickname in adult life.

Thank you! That must be it - I didn't realize she had a sister with such a close name. Likely their names are getting confused between each other. But good to know the parents are correct and evreything is settled!
