Univ. of Texas yearbook lookup request

Do any wikiTreers have Univ. of Texas yearbooks ("The Cactus") from 1946-48?  I'd like to know if my father, Jake Avis, is listed as a student.  Otherwise, I guess a trip to Austin is in order.

There is a J. Avis lin the 1951 UT yearbook, found it on Ancestry.  There is a Jake Avis at Austin High School yearbooks in the late 1930's.  Does this help?

Actually, Ancestry made a mistake on that UT yearbook.

Their scanner seems to have misread "Davis" as "Avis"
If the Jake Avis at Austin High was your father, he seems to have been quite active in things like debate teams, class officers, chess and checker club, several types of intramural sports.
Thanks for the help. You guys are great.

That's definitely him in the Austin High yearbooks (which I have).  However, in 1951 he was in UT's dental school in Houston.  Would they have included that in the Cactus yearbook?

I was thinking that after his discharge in 12/1945 he must have completed his interrupted college in Austin before going to the dental school in Houston.
