parents of John Hubbard born in Maine

I am seeking information on John Hubbard's first wife, Abigail as well as anything on John's parents and siblings. He was born in Maine, while Abigail was born in Massachusetts.

He is said to have been born in 1820, why not set his profile to "open?"

Do you know the names of any of their children and location of birth?  - sometimes those records lead to the maiden name of the mother.?  When did Abigail die?  Who was his later wife, where were they married?  Marriage records may contain parents names.

I've been searching long enough to know I should include that information (duhhhhhhh.......!!!!) It also doesnt help when i mix 2 questions together.. lol John and Abigail had 2 children that I know of-Emma A., b. 1864 in Wisconsin and Frank E., born 1866 in Wisconsin. (In 1880, Emma was 16 and Frank 14). I do not have any additional information on Abigail, like death date or where. I'm guessing in Wisconsin, but yet its also possible that John and Abigail divorced and she remarried, which is why I can't find her. John married Angeline (Angie) Lynch February 16, 1877 in Green Lake County, Wisconsin.

Thank you, Betty, but unfortunately no, its not the right John Hubbard. :( I believe he was a farmer (1880 census for Wisconsin shows his occupation as 'laborer')

Since I'm not that great on knowing the New England states and exactly where they are in relation to each other, I Googled them. I am thinking that Abigail and John had to have met somewhere outside of New England, say in Ohio or Indiana, and possibly married in one of those states, rather than Maine or Massachusetts? Any thoughts on my suspicions? Also, they possibly married circa 1855?

Yep, she certainly was married to 'A' Hubbard! My Abigail was born in Massachusetts, however.

This is getting really exciting, Betty! I never thought he might have been married 3 (or more) times, even though pregnancy and other issues claimed lives far more than they do today... I'm feeling as if this wall is being broken down, especially after seeing how my gg grandfather had the urge to relocate every 15-20 years.....

I hope so too. I'm also hoping its the right John Hubbard. Do you think it would help me to find the mother of his two children that didn't belong to his (3rd??) wife, Angeline? I was presuming that both Emma A., b. 1864 in Wisconsin and Frank E., born 1866 in Wisconsin had the same mother which may be erroneous thinking on my part?

There's no way to know which child belongs to whom unless you can dig up a death record for the child. Sometimes, not always, the parents are listed on the death certificate. Did you get any information about that last marriage record?

Not yet, unfortunately. My boyfriend and I have been arguing over some stupid stuff and since his phone has time on it this month, it makes it somewhat difficult for me to do much of anything. We only have our phones to access the internet, and quite honestly digging for family history takes a long time. He gets rather antsy if I'm on it for a long time.
