Because descendants of Richard Sears of Yarmouth, Plymouth Colony circa 1639 [[Sears-65]] [Haplogroup R-Z8] are the most numerous group in the USA, people often assume that they are descended from this man.  But.  through our Sears Y-DNA project we have found that Sears men are descended from many different unique ancestors from distinct Haplogroups.  I have made a summary chart of men named Sears showing the different Haplogroups    represented.    Our Y-DNA project is at https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/sears/dna-results

The chart of Sears Haplogroups is at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mwxg2fKAkmiNaiDtzYc2ZTTPen_9fm0o/view?usp=sharing

I have traced my Bahamian Sears line back to a David Sears (Sears-3645), whose children were born in Nassau, Bahamas.

There are no living male Sears in my line to test, would be interested if there are there any Haplogroups from the Bahamas or Bermuda?

None that i know of but i will keep watch.  When i visited the Bahamas a fellow asked me-  "Where did you get a good old Bahama name like Say'-yars?"   He pronounced the name with Sears two syllables.
