Would anyone happen to have any information regarding a William Gardiner b: Sep 8, 1749 and d: abt 1840(possibly spelled Gardner) who married a Mary Boon(e) b: Jan 10, 1710/11? OR their son, William Gardiner (Gardner)b: abt 1783 d: abt 1870 who married a Susan (Susannah) James? It is said that William & Susan were living in Exeter, RI and then later moved into the Voluntown/Griswold/Sterling area. They had 2 sons that I know of: Robert James Gardiner b:1805 in Exeter, RI and a Samuel Boon Gardiner b:1808. Samuel Boon Gardiner married Eleanor Bliven and their daughter Almira Gardiner (married Rev. Edwin Bennett) was born in Sterling, CT. Robert James Gardiner married Amey A. Bliven (yes, Amey & Eleanor are siblings). I'm trying to prove that William Gardiner & Mary Boone are the parents of William Gardiner who married Susan James. The only thing I have to go on is a DAR lineage book that mentions Almira Gardiner in it, however, once I contacted the DAR Society, they say they have no listing for either of my 2 William Gardiners. But according to lineage book, it states that William Gardiner who married Mary Boon was a Capt. in the Revolutionary War. There is no record of either William in the Exeter, RI town records except for the death of Robert James Gardiner which state his parents as William Gardiner and Susan James. Sound confusing yet? Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me clear up this mystery.
Danny.
