If he had been born later I would have suggested his first names in Swedish had been Carl Lennart. But Lennart is a name that is much more "modern", I think it started being used around 1890/1900 more likely. So the best guess about his Swedish first names is that they would have been Carl Leonard.

Do you have any more information? Did he arrive in Australia 1852? Did he emigrate or did he just leave the ship he sailed on? Have you checked the sailors registers in the Australian ports?

(You should retag your question with "Sweden" so more people interested in Sweden sees it. The tag "New Sweden" is used for a Swedish a colony in North America.)
