Advice before adding father of this pre-1700 LaBrie profile?

I can add a father to the profile of Jean Baptiste LaBrie. This is who I can add:

• Louis Joseph Mignault (Labrie)1620 Saint-Germain-Laxis, De Brie, Ile de France, France - 07 Nov 1689 Saint-Germain-De Brie, Sens, Bourgogne, France  married to Jeanne Chazou 31 Dec 1665

These are the sources I am using:

• PRGH-IGD from Ancestry.

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

the father never bears the dit name Labrie, that is reserved for Jean Mignot, and this dit name is obviously given him because he came from Brie.

Now I would like some clarification on the location he comes from, was it in Île-de-France or in Bourgogne?  Isabelle?

oh, and the ''marriage date'' from PRDH for the parents is not an actual marriage date, PRDH on its files puts a ''latest date possible'' type of entry very often.  Since Jean is deemed born around 1665, the parents are deemed married before 31 Dec 1665.

The records for Saint-Germain-Laxis at AD77 start in 1669. Where does the DOB of Labrie-482 come from? And is it sure that the place is Saint-Germain-Laxis? There are plenty of parishes named Saint-Germain (not in Sens though).

Julien, on his marriage record his origin is given as St Germain de la Sime en Brie, évêché de Sens en Bourgogne, to give the exact quote.  Image is on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Migneault-30

OK, so it is Saint-Germain-Laxis, which the priest heard as "la sime". It was indeed part of évêché de Sens according to this list. This is confirmed since the baptism of Jean's sister can be found there, as noted in fichier origine.

I think the LNAB of Migneault-30/Labrie-482 should be Mignot. The earliest available document with his name is the 1689 marriage record where it is spelled Mignot, and his sister's baptism also has Mignot.

His father Labrie-13 also has a bad LNAB, his death date is wrong (it is his son's marriage) and his death place "Sens, Saône-et-Loire" is nonsense. The attached parents are unsourced and unlikely.

Same problem with his mother Chazou-1, LNAB should be Chaillou (Jean's marriage record has been read as Chazou, but that's not so clear, il could be Chaiou), and death info is wrong.

I would recommend that you look at the actual source of the record, not what someone else says it is.  It's best to use original sources whenever possible.
