Is anyone familiar with doing research in Rozwaz-Sobolowk areas of Ukraine and needing help doing research there ?

Hi Ricky. I looked it up and it appears that the towns your ancestors came from are in the region known as Galicia (or Halyčyna). Galicia has a complicated history; in the medieval period, it was it's own country (as Galicia-Volhynia), then the kingdom was divided between Poland and Lithuania. The section your ancestors lived in was annexed by Poland and became what is known as the voivodeship of Ruthenia. Poland then merged with Lithuania to become the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and a lot of stuff happened and in 1772, that commonwealth was conquered and divided up between Russia, Prussia, and Austria. The region known as Galicia was annexed by the Austrian Empire, which of course was dissolved at the end of World War I. Nowadays, the region is part of Ukraine.

There may be baptismal and marriage records in local Catholic churches. The State Archives of Ukraine has pretty much all the local records and they are gonna charge a fee for lookups. You can try contacting the State Archives here:
