I am certain my Sullivan ancestors came from County Cork,  My great grandfather married a Julia Hogan also from County Cork - from the Boherbue area.  I am also looking for Mahoney,s, probably from Cork - also on my grandfather side.

On my  grandmother's side there are O'Connell's and Stepletons that I know came from Ireland, but don't have a clue as to where.

Sorry, the rest of your list is anywhre in my tree.

Please join our new County Cork Sub-Project. I have found Connell's in Ballnkillna, not far from Monananig where my grandfather was born. His mother was an O'Connell or a Connell. That line has been my brick wall. We might be able to collaborate on O'Connells. The O'Sullivan's were from the far west of Cork,  I think i have seen Mahoney somewhere too. We would love to have you join our search in County Cork!

Thanks

i would be happy to join.  I have two words of warning for you.  First, I have run into a dead end on my family.  Second, I am pretty much a novice.  If you would still like me, I can be very determined and I would love to go to Ireland (if I must)  to do research over there.
Welcome! I teach Irish research, and have a lot of dead ends too. I can help with ideas on where to look. Sometimes I do one name studies just to find all possibilities. This week I am looking at all Burke's in west Cork, using censuses and church records. I am still setting up townlands and civil parishes as I learn categories and wikicode. Add this to your profile [[Category: County Cork]][[Category: County Cork Project]]

Hello Sharon,

I was wondering who put "Categories: O'Driscoll in Cork Name Study" in one of my profiles (I added it to some other O'Driscolls that I've just created profiles for).  I'd like to join your study... I don't really know what that entails, but if you tell me what to do, I'll do it.

All the best,

Sheila McCarthy (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McCarthy-2108

Hi Sheila,

Welcome to the O'Driscoll in Cork Name Study! Most of what we do is just what you have started doing. Please add the [[Category: O'Driscoll in Cork Name Study]] to any O'Driscoll's from or in Cork. I will probably be adding Driscoll's as well, because it is the same clan. What we will get is an index of folks with that name and we can compare, especially for duplicates, close relatives, dates of birth, etc.

If you have any additional information about this family in general, you can add it to the category page.

That is about all there is to it. I have started dozens of One Name Studies, both in Ireland and in Italy.

Thanks again!

Sharon Troy Centanne
