What evidence is there that the maiden name of Aseneth Moon who married Tunis Scott is Anderson?

For many years I have seen people list Aseneth with a maiden name of Anderson, but have never seen any evidence. One researcher cited the fact that her first son with her second husband is named David Anderson Scott, but that seems entirely speculative.

I am descended from Aseneth by her first husband William Moon, and have been unable to find any evidence to prove her birth name. I have no DNA matches with Andersons in their tree, but of course that isn't proof either.

I would love to see the evidence, otherwise I think this is just speculation.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob. Suggest you add Tennessee and United_States to the tags so more people see the question.
Just came across an email from November 2000 from the researcher I mentioned above.

She stated that the family story was that Aseneth named her first son by her second husband David Anderson Scott because that was her maiden name. The researcher wrote, "This is the story that has been in the family for a long time."

We may never know.
