German casualty list abbreviations

Great-uncle Alfred Böbisch died during the Great War.  The newspaper casualty lists are searchable (a link to Alfred's entry appears below.)  Most of the entries give a status like "leicht verwundet" (lightly wounded,) "schwer verwundet" (heavily wounded,) "vermißt" (missing,) or "gefallen" (fallen,) but Alfred's status looks like "tödl verungl".  Does this translate to "deadly accident"?  

The family story is that he died during training exercises, so that would make sense, but I'd like some confirmation about the casualty list entry translation.

Yeah, it is "tödlich verunglückt" and that is something like "deadly accident".

Edit: I found his cemetery. Germany's "Volksbund der Kriegsgräberfürsorge" cares about cemeteries where (mostly) German war casualties are buried. I will put the link to Alfred's profile at the Volksbund into his profile.
