An article about how a woman abandoned her baby to die and was found decades later through DNA through a public genealogy database.

Interesting.  If for no other reason, the article is useful because it emphasizes that women have other options now for turning unwanted infants over to someone who will care for them.
That is a very sad story with an unsatisfying ending. Life is the most basic and fundamental right.

Absolutely interesting! I have a 30+ year old cold case in my county of a 1986 Jane Doe that I cannot find the identity of. Had to exhume her to collect samples for DNA processing as the older samples that had been typed were not compatible with present day technology standards. I am consulting with our county attorney in order to get her DNA provided to some of the DNA testing companies (Ancestry, 23&ME, etc) in order to see if that might help find a possible ancestor connection that could lead to finding out who she is. This could prove to be invaluable even if it just provides a possible ethnic background.
