Correct way to enter Norwegian names?

I have many new Norwegian names to enter and am confused as to the correct way to present the info.  Norwegian naming commonly includes farm names and/or locality names as a clue as to where the person lives at any given time in their life - consequentially this "clue" can change from time to time.

Also, it is my understanding that a married woman does not usually adopt her husband's name but would remain known as Gunhild Andresdatter from birth through to death - but as proposed above she could have several farm/location names during that time.  How would this situation be treated?

So could someone please show the approved entry style(s) from existing profiles to look at as examples?

I'm 25% Norwegian but really confused about this right now.

Hi William! I have Norwigian ancestors and this is the link to one of them: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Arentsen-16. I have seen him refered to as Peter Arentsen Haaland when http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pedersdatter-712 was baptised. I have typed him in as Peter Arentsen, Haaland is his birthplace and I have added it as such, but could as well have put it in the biografi section. Hope this can guide you a bit.

It is important to use the farm name as a surname and put the patronymic in as a middle name, since it makes it much easier to find and identify an ancestor and that Is how they were known. There are too many Ole Olesons and Lars Larsons otherwise. the farm name of birth can go into the “maiden” name slot for both sexes and the farm where they lived most of their life into the surname. Use the partronymic as the middle name
