Anyone having trouble with badges and images?

+6 votes
My badges and wikitree images seem to have disappeared from my browser, Brave.  My own pictures and such are there, but the wikitree badges and images are not showing.  I tried clearing the cache and shutting down and clearing the memory.  I don't think I changed any settings or anything.  Just wondered if anyone else is having trouble.  Opera browser is fine, but I prefer Brave.

All looks normal to me (Firefox user), Kitty.  I think the problem must be on your end.  If rebooting didn't fix it, you may need to look at uninstalling and reinstalling the browser, or trying a repair (from the uninstall menu) if that's an option.

Looks like the Brave shield is doing it...

I just clicked on the little Brave Lion Logo in the Address bar and moved the little red button next to ( Cross site trackers blocked )  and now everything is back to normal... but I am not now sure what the security level is since i have done that ...

Looks like Brave is doing what it is supposed to do - stopping unknown tracking on our PC ... seems Brave is blocking cross site trackings within Wikitree ....

I have just read in the :

 "Change Global Shield Default"

Block trackers and ads which follow you across the web.

These are the default Shields settings. They apply to all websites unless you change something in the Shields panel on a particular site. Changing these won't affect your existing per-site settings.

Lesley I believe that the change you made will only affect this one site and as WikiTree is pretty much benign when it comes to yucky spam and pop-up stuff, I think you'll be OK yeswink

Thanks SJ smiley

I experienced this yesterday, using Firefox with uBlock Origin. The block was on something called pagespeed.ce. I don't know whether WikiTree changed something in the way it processes images or whether it was an update to one of the filter lists that uBlock uses. Disabling uBlock for took care of the problem.

We've been using pagespeed to compress the images on the site for at least six months, so I'm guessing it was an update to one of the filter lists.
