Comments on John Savage > Upcoming merge. Please review.

Question

Please note: John Savage was not the son of Thomas Savage and Faith Hutchinson, although many online family trees provide this relationship.

Thomas immigrated in 1635 and did not marry his first wife Faith until 1637. Thomas had a son John with his second wife Mary who died as an infant in 1661. ^[1]

On 22 Sep 2019 Sherry (Clough) Sievert wrote on Savage-122:

This profile has no parents mentioned; I've seen a record for a potential father; The record I just noted has John b. 25 Feb 1603, Bishopsgate; (of Macclesfield Granted 2nd Earl of Rivers by mother Hereditary Est & Vixcount Colchester); death 10 Oct 1654 Frodsham, Cheshire West. m. Catherina Parker b. 1605 Hornsby Castle, Lancaster; died 1645 Boston. Has anyone heard of this parentage?

I totally agree. Thomas Savage had a son John but that son John was born and died in 1661.

I have seen the same connection to this parentage in my Ancestry.com profile and I am super intrigued by it, but I cannot find any documents that connect the two men. I have not seen a John mentioned in Sir John Thomas's list of children anywhere other than ancestry.com.  ("John b. 25 Feb 1603, Bishopsgate; (of Macclesfield Granted 2nd Earl of Rivers by mother Hereditary Est & Vixcount Colchester); death 10 Oct 1654 Frodsham, Cheshire West. m. On geni.com tree also shows Sir John Thomas as potential father, but I am not sure that it isn't just trying to guess based on people's potentially factually incorrect trees. So sites are very confusing and I have basically hit a brick wall on this connection. Does anyone have any documentation or sources to make this England to Connecticut gap?
