Question regarding mother of John (De Burgh) Burgh

I noticed this question on the profile while doing Greeter tasks. Since the profile manager is mostly inactive, I've brought it here to get the attention of the England and Euroaristo Projects

On 25 Jan 2020 James Heald wrote on De_Burgh-77:

Mother is incorrect -- she should be Maria Lynch, not Grainne O'Carroll. This had significance, as it led to dispute between John and his half-brother Richard as to who should properly succeed to the Earldom of Clanricarde. See

Oh what a web they weave. three wives that Burke had simultaneously. It's never easy. I do believe James is correct. the mother should be Maria. But Wikipedia doesn't give any on-line sources.

Anyone want to take this on?

Of the works cited, the 1820 history can be found at the Internet Archive (n. 32), and the 1944 paper is on JSTOR:

The Dictionary of Irish Biography entry may be accessible, if you can find somebody with a suitable university or Irish library subscription.
