What is the correct geographic designation for someone born in Turkey in the mid-to-late 1800s?

I have several ancestors who were born in Turkey as children of American missionaries (Joseph Kingsbury Greene and Elizabeth Augusta  Davis) between 1856 - 1879. Right now I have them listed (not on Wikitree yet) as born in various cities in Turkey, but it was then part of the Ottoman Empire. Cities are Broussa/Bronso/Bursa (possibly all the same place), Nicomedia and Constantinople/Istanbul. How should I list where they were born?

That would depend on the exact time period; there was an administrative reorganisation of the Ottoman Empire in 1864. See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_divisions_of_the_Ottoman_Empire
