How do I delete a profile entered in error

When I found the record of my great grandfather's baptism, there was no father entered. It seems that He took all possible precautions to hide the fact that he was illegitimate, even to the extent of lying to Cambridge University with details of a fictitious father. There are no other lakes I can merge him with, and he has no connections with any other family members. Don't ask me how I entered him.

Sorry I made a mistake. It is Lake-2064 who needs to be deleted. There are no other lakes I can merge him with, and he is not connected with any of our family members on the tree. Please don't ask me how I entered him in the first place.

Unfortunately profiles cannot be deleted by us users. The best thing to do is recycle the profile. Hopefully, you are entering someone else with the same LNAB, then put the correct information and it is not hard to change the connection from father to son or something like that.

It is better to change the profile to someone with the same LNAB because if you change the LNAB it causes all sorts of redirects behind the scenes and that weighs down our tree.

You can also merge him with another profile, and just eliminate all his information through the merge. You would just want to remove all the relationships to the profile first (or through the merge, depending on how comfortable you are with the process) and just select the information you want to keep. When the merge is done, the other profile would just be absorbed.
