Hi Helen,

Are you trying to add your mtDNA results?  Through which company did you test?  To add your results, you can go to your profile, then look in the top right corner for the 'Add' link.  When you hover your mouse over it, one of the choices will be 'DNA test information.'  Click on that link.  On the page that comes up, there will be an option to 'add a new test.'  Click on the arrow to the right of 'Select DNA test' and numerous options will come up with regard to where you tested and what type of test you took.  Follow the instructions and you should be good to go.

Have you uploaded your results to Gedmatch.com?  If so, you would have an ID # that was assigned by Gedmatch.  There's a place to enter that.

If you have any more questions, just post a comment in this thread.

GEDmatch is for auDNA (not mtDNA or Y-DNA).  You can enter your mtDNA and Y-DNA haplogroup information in GEDmatch but that provides very little help.  It is Y haplotype and mtDNA differences (mitotype / mtDNA signature) which are useful for genealogy.

If you have mtDNA results then add them to www.mitosearch.com  Then on your DNA Tests page in WIkiTree indicate you had a mtDNA test and add your MitoSearch ID.

If you do not have mtDNA results then go to www.familytreedna.com and order a mtDNAPlus test for $59.

Hello Helen,

Enter results at www.mitosearch.org and then enter MitoSearch ID on your DNA Test page in WikiTree.  If you wish, I can do it for you if you e-mail me your resuts.

Sincerely, Peter
I just looked up GeneTree online.  They were apparently sold to Ancestry.  After January 1, 2013, access to your account is no longer available through the GeneTree site:

Helen,  Did GeneTree ever send you your mtDNA results?  Or did you only look at them on their Web site? If the latter then I recommend you retest at FamilyTreeDNA.  The cost is only $59 for an mtDNAPlus test (plus about $5.00 postage.
