Two John Morgans born in 1796 arrived at New York, one in 1824 and one 1826.  I don't have information about where they were born or where they were traveling to.

I hope this is somewhat helpful.  Jo Ann

Thanks Jo Ann...thats more than I had before. I had researched this a few years back and found one of the John Morgan's who had immigrated to New York from Wales in the, I think, 1830 census, it looked like he was living with family members there, but I really don't know if it was my g-g-grand father or the other one. The distant cousins I have who are still in the Port Clinton, Ohio area know even less about John than I do.

Thanks again! The hunt for info is half the fun!! ;)

Hi All,

The only way to seperate them out is the shipping lists and passenger manifests, couple with Old Parish Register entries and their work.

All the best

Where would one find that information Billy?

Thanks for your help!

Jim
Hi Jim,

For Birth records for that era you can try Free Reg for Old Parish Registry entries at http://www.freereg.org.uk/

Also the National Archives  http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

will hold shipping lists, passenger manifests, work entries and some Old Parish Registers as welll as court records and tax records.

All the best Billy
