Hey Catherine,

Any profile, like this one, that does not have a profile manager has the yellow button to adopt the profile (center area of the page). When you click that, you will become the manager. There is no approval needed.

It looks like Catherine has only "Family Member" status; so she may not be able to adopt orphan profiles.

Catherine, you need to complete the registration process to become a full "Wikitree Genealogist" member.
