Profile of the Month

Samuel Allen 1713 - 1774

This month's profile of the month is that of Samuel Allen, born about 19 Sep 1713 in St. Peters Parish, New Kent County, Virginia. Samuel Allen was the son of William Allen Jr. and Hannah (LNAB Unknown). The Allen's were early residents of St Peter's Parish, New Kent, Virginia and large landholders.

Samuel and his wife, Martha Field (Archer) Allen. patented land in Cumberland Co., Virginia and had at least 11 children, Samuel died 15 Feb 1779 in Essex or Goochland, Goochland, Virginia.

This profile could use some help with continued bio development and sourcing as could the profile of his spouse, Martha. Could you help us improve this Southern Pioneer's Project profile ?

Project Page if the Month

These links are grouped by topical headings based on use and subject matter in order to reduce the time spent on searching for the desired project information.

Help Wanted - 5 Star Profile needs Improvement

This month's 5 Star Profile is William Thornhill Jr. born abt 1767 (est) in Beaufort District, South Carolina. The bio could use some clean-up and development to make it shine, It also appears that the Revolutionary War records (DAR #A114771) attributed to William Thornhill Jr. are possibly combined with those of his father. More research may be needed to unravel the confusion between father and son..

Take a look and let us know if you would like to put your talents to work on this 5 Star project managed profile.

Thanks for another great Newsletter David!

Did a little digging and discovered one new member, Greta Moody, and I have 409 connections over 30 generations! I don't think I've ever found so many with anyone before!

So welcome cousin!
Wow! Have y'all compared your DNA? (that is, if you've both had DNA tests done)
Wow that is awesome Lisa.  Looks like the start of a collaboration with so many connections in common
Not yet Liz. I'm not sure if Greta has hers listed. 7th cousins once removed, and most of the names are not the most familiar to me, but we shall see!
