Sutherland man servant at Ackergill, Scotland

Is there any way to find out more about the servants who worked at the Ackergill Tower in Wick around 1841? Alexander Sutherland is a man servant in Ackergill.  I find him on the 1841 census, but don't know anything else about him. I am looking for my Alexander Sutherland who ended up in California around 1851.  My grand father said Alexander grew to manhood in Scotland and worked as a coachman. He said it was around the Edinburgh Castle, but I wonder if he got that wrong.  I know it's a long shot.

my Alexander is here : https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Sutherland-3772&public=1

If you go to the top right of this page and click on Find, you can look down that menu to Projects. There is a Scotland project and there are several resource people there that you may want to contact about your search.
