Found link to detailed UK ancestry on Australian platform: http://www.genealogy.kirkpatrickaustralian.com/

Isle Of Wight Kirkpatrick and other ancestors

Is this a verified website, seems pretty comprehensive to me and has loads of detail.

Help please to verify/import Samuel Rolleston/Kirkpatrick UK ancestry pre-1800s. Thank you!

I found no info or sources for Eliza Rolleston on the website http://genealogy.kirkpatrickaustralian.com/archives/index.php and it does say at the bottom of the website "©, written  2001-2020."

You can use information from other websites as long as it is not copyrighted and you do not just copy and paste it into a profile. You will still need to add sources to the profile(s). Photos from other websites are the same you have to have permission to use them if they are copyrighted by the website and the photographer.

David, the reference that I found was for Eliza's father, Samuel Rolleston, who, it says, died "at his daughter, Eliza's house in Brighton". I followed the the link to this website, which traces her family back a couple of hundred years! Thanks for the links. When I have time I will peruse!

The people I looked up had good sources attached. You can reference it, but also use their references and links if you can find them on line. I've never used them but they look very professional. Good find Sarah, thank you.

Thanks, Richard. I agree but there seem to be extra checks required for pre-1700 and this site is not in the approved list
I personally think you should try to find original sources. It's a well documented family. I've found some for Elizas father's death mentioned om her profile. (outlined below).
Thank you, Helen. Sadly I cannot dedicate a lot of time to this, so was hoping for some shortcuts. As you say, it is a well-documented family, so I was hoping I could reuse past research instead of repeating it.

The date and place of death come from the Gentleman's magazine (A sort of society gossip sheet) google books

He  was living in Leamington (Leamington Spa Warwick) when he wrote an unsigned will This mentions his  sister in law and three children Eliza Martin, Samuel amd James Rollestom The oath that confirmed his handwriting was taken by  a Francis Worsley and Joseph Kirkpatrick the younger. Both were of Newport on the Isle of Wight (Hampshire)  The probate section calls him Samuel Rolleston, formerly of Leamington in the County of Warwick and late of Brighthelmston in the County of Sussex( this was the earlier full name for Brighton).Probate granted 25 July 1823.

And there is a portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds of Elizabeth , Eliza's mother with her brother Samuel

https://www.libson-yarker.com/recent-sales/elizabeth-rolleston-with-her-son-samuel The provenance of the painting outlines the inheritance of the painting  in the family from Samuel to today.

Thank you, Helen. Every little helps. I sadly don't have the time to do the research myself and was hoping I could somehow import someone else's hard work! All contributions appreciated!
