obtaining irish certificates help

Question

hi,

ive gone onto the hse.ie website via a link to order certs, however im having problems as it says marriages must not be before 1903 and deaths i can only get back to 1924.

the marriage was in 1872 and the death was in 1876 (not same person).

please can anyone advise how i order these or where from?

For Civil start at Irish Civil Records. They tell you about on line and off line sources.

For church records see Catholic and Anglican dioceses and parish records. It tells you what is available and how to get them

Yoy do not need to order these certificates (unless you want something fancy). A marriage in 1872 and a death in 1876 are both available at Irish Genealogy ie - https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/

and you can print them out. 

If you need more help, please tell me the names of the people you are looking for.

ive found the marriage and been able to get a copy, but the death has no image showing. any ideas?

Sorry Amy, I misled you on the deaths - at the moment they start at 1878 but the General Register Office is working on getting more records on to the site. You can get the certificate through that site but I do not know how the price compares with the site you first mentioned. 

Have you had a look at PRONI Will Calendars? (Public Record Office Northern Ireland). There is a will there, complete with an image of the will for a Thomas Jackson of Barnemaghery, County Down. Is this man yours?

None of the sources are comprehensive, but still very useful.
