My grandfather (Charles Frederick JAMESON/JAMESION) stated on his marriage certificate (1910, Brisbane, Australia) that his mother was MARY ANN DRINKWATER and his father was CHARLES JAMESON.
My grandfather was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, 19th May, 1886 or 1887. I have had a professional genealogist look for the marriage of Mary Ann DRINKWATER and Charles JAMESON, and also for the birth of my grandfather, but with no luck.
I know when he left England for Australia, he was part of what we would now call a "melded family", so I'm wondering if DRINKWATER was his mother's birth name, but she was a widow (with another unknown surname) when she married Charles JAMESON, presumably sometime prior to 1886.
I am at my wits end with my dear grandfather's line. Does anyone know of a DRINKWATER/JAMESON (or any variant spelling of that name) connection, in or around Birmingham, Warwickshire, in the mid-1800's? Any clue would be very gratefully received.
