Sorry I am ten years late, but this intrigued me as there is a town named Portobello which was part of Duddingston parish in Midlothian and is now part of Edinburgh, but Portobello in Gladsmuir parish in East Lothian was a tiny place.

We have a Helen Newlands who was born at Portobello in East Lothian on 06 May 1824.
