I've traced my husband's grandfather, Nathan Savitz, to Romny and subsequently Kremenczuk/Kruikov (Poltava Gubernia). Nathan came to the UK c 1905 with his wife Bessie (Rebecca) Troshansky and their two eldest children, Herschel and Louis; other children were Esther, Benjamin/Barnet, Joseph and Gertrude. I believe that they had relatives who emigrated to the US but have not been able to locate them yet. If anyone has information on Savitz/Saevitz from Ukraine I'd be very grateful if they would contact me.
