You go back to the early Europeans in America. Do you have a question?
Who was Samuel Fullerton?
I do have a question: What's your GSMD #??? Curious to see where you compare to mine.
My apologies, I meant to type Samuel Fuller
No question.  My apologies.  I am just learning how to use this forum.  A little patience would be appreciated
I don't know what a GMSD is
When you have fully documented your lineage and submitted it to the Mayflower Society, you are issued a sequential number that identifies your approved application. When you have that number you then make the claim that you are a Mayflower Descendant.

Hi, I am curious to know why anyone would challenge another to share their GSMD number? When you ask someone to compare their number with yours, I don't know what you are asking. What difference would it make? If I said mine was G# 96,758 (it is not, btw), how would that compare with yours -- except to prove that I was recently elected? I would encourage everyone who wants, to join the Mayflower Society. As a state or member society historian (and Deputy Governor General to the General Board of Assistants (GBOA)), I spend a lot of time helping people prove their Mayflower bona fides. I do not speak for the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, but it seems clear to me that the GSMD encourages everyone who can prove they are a descendant of a Mayflower passenger to join (although it might not go well if everyone applied at once).        -- 11th generation descendant of William Brewster

Thank you for your comment.  I too found the question a little off-putting. I'm just beginning this journey of 'proving' myself as a descendant.  Trying to find birth and death records proves cumbersome and time consuming and expensive.   --10th generation descendant of John Alden, 14th generation descendant of Frances Eaton and John Billington
I was not trying to challenge any one to give me there GSMD #. I was simply trying to put a time frame reference on how long or if, they had been a member of the Society. There are a lot of people on this site who claim to be a descendant of a founder in some fashion but can not document it. My original research took nearly two and a half years. My #70468 was approved in Dec. of 2001. I am a real stickler of documenting my family history and prefer to prove a line before I make any statement about being related to John or Jane Doe. Sorry if I riffled any feathers.
It's all good Tom.  Thanks for clarifying! :-)

Is this a question or a statement?

If it's a question, please provide additional details as to your question along with the specific profile this question is regarding.

If it's a statement... It's great to see that you had discovered this! :-)
