I'm going to go ahead and close this question. The US Southern Colonies project has been re-started, with a reduced scope. It's Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas and Georgia pre-1776. That's it.

The US Southern Colonies project is undergoing reconstruction. Better to use the Southern Pioneers project (for >1775) and the Virginia (or other state) project for pre-1775 until things get sorted out.

Thanks Jillaine, so we should put Southern Pioneer and not Southern Colonies from 1775 and down;then the states project for pre 1775? I am not sure I am part of the state project. But I am the Southern Colonies and Southern Pioneers. So, if I placed a Southern Colonies sticker on a North Carolina profile that was pre 1775 I should change it?
Nancy, Southern Pioneers has a specific scope; you should check its project page.  For example, I would not put people who stayed in Virginia into Southern Pioneers-- I believe Southern Pioneers is for people who "pioneered" OUT of the original colonies. But again, check the project page for specifics.

Virginia and Maryland and North/South Carolinas cover pre- and post- revolutionary war.

I hope we'll have something for you all soon about what's to become of US Southern Colonies.
ok, understand and it is best to stay away the Southern Colonies at this time. I agree concerning the Pioneers. Thank you for answering my question.

Looking at the US Southern Colonies Project Page  there are dates after 1783.  States, etc are listed on the Project Page, so check it out.

Southern Colonies covers more than just the original 13. The cut off dates depend on which colonies you are working on. Also, the stated dates are for Editbot purposes so they encompass the life span of the profiles. But for the colonies, once a colony becomes a state, any profiles from that time period would go under United States - either Southern Pioneers or the state project.
