Yes, this is the Belle McCauley who moved out to California ... but not the Belle McCauley who moved to Ellwood City, PA.

Since your post, I found Gard-Garner Family Tree says Belle McCaulley age 49,  Death, 1921 in Los Angeles, California    Inglewood Park Cemetery, Los Angeles Co., Inglewood, CA  Spouse, William H. McCauley

My search for Belle McCauley who moved to Ellwood City, PA ... and her son John A. McCauley continues!

This article is a great clue ... thank you. 

In the Spirit Lake Beacon, (Spirit Lake, Iowa) Thursday April 14, 1949 says "Mrs. Louise Ballantyne has purchased a home in Des Moines and will be joined by her mother Belle Ballantyne in the near future where they will make their home."

There is still a mystery of two women, who both have an Iowa connection and born 1872, named Belle G. (Ballintyne) McCauley (1872 -1921)  with four children ... and Belle McCauley who appears in Ellwood City in 1930 Census with one child age 17. 

LOL ... i'm beginning to think that Belle faked her death in California ... and reappeared in Ellwood City, in 1930!

I'm stumped. I appreciate your ideas
