Found a source, child is private with birth in 1870s

+5 votes

I was working on Data Doctor error 131 - No dates - No dates on relatives - Open - Unknown Status. I did a little digging on this profile: [[Sanders-18|Wright Sanders Jr.]]

I found a source that includes his wife and one of their children (a death record for their son) -

On this profile, the son is listed as Private, even though it says he was born in the 1870s. This should be open, given the 100 year rule, so I was wondering how I would go about having that profile opened so that I may enter this source information. The profile manager hasn't been on since 2011.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I'd like to get the dates sorted and mark this error "corrected". Hehe

Ah, emailing
I had the same problem, Melissa, and oddly enough, also with an Oakes profile!

Hello Melissa,

I have had this happen to me too. I just posted all the sources in the comments section with a short message.

If this is frowned upon, please let me know. Thank you!
Hi, Missy, what I usually do as a Data Doctor is

1) post in the status of the error that the message has been left in the comments.

2) go through the request process to have it opened.  This means keeping notes and checking to see if each step is needed (I've had to go all the way through every time).

3) When it is finally opened, then go back in to add the sources into the biography using inline citations where possible.

4) Almost always it turns out to be someone unresponsive/ inactive so you are going to be the one person who will improve that profile.  That's why I keep doing the followup.
