How would one find their personal connection to Jesus and HIS family?

Aside from that WikiTree doesn't do anything B.C., only A.D.

If you would like pursue the topic of descendants of Jesus, this Wikipedia article discusses some of the history of this subject, with quite a few references. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_bloodline

Included here is, in my view, the ultimate conspiracy theory The Bloodline of the Holy Grail. It is an interesting book, but pretty short on any semblance of proof. The book is still available in the online bookstores.

While I agree that no one will find B.C. records here on WikiTree and any guess at a lineage from that era is spotty, why would anyone Flag this question? There is nothing offensive here and is an honest question - can this flag be removed so it does not get hidden?

.

I agree with Virginia.

I agree with Virginia and Melanie.  And for anyone reading this who has "fat finger syndrome," if you mistakenly flag something, you can unflag it!  The flag button will have turned into an unflag button.  Just click it.
I agree as well.

This is a legitimate question, and the general topic of descent from antiquity is followed by many, including prominent genealogists.

Perhaps one of the management folks can remove the flag.

Since this post seemed to have been flagged at some point, I hope it’s alright to give an answer. Just had a discussion about this topic with someone and thought I would look here to see if wikitree did post Jesus’s line, but, yes, sources are needed. I did find this about Jesus’s line on Family Search, Princess of the West Franks Sarah Damaris Bat Yeshuah L271-BG6 is supposedly the daughter of Jesus. There is sources listed, although it’s all speculation, is still worth a peak. There is also a FB group related to descendants. https://www.facebook.com/The-Descendants-Of-Jesus-Jack-Hickman-Abensur-Essenes-Priory-of-Sion-142036955904625/

Couldn't be simpler.  As we learned in Sunday School, Jesus's father is our father, which makes all of us his siblings.

1) Build a time machine and (2) use it.

Records get very spotty before about the 12th century in Western records.  Remember the majority of the populous could not read or write.  Monks might keep the records of nobility who had the means to support them.  But then you have fires, floods, war and destruction for many of the documents that were kept.

What about Jewish records, though? Jesus wasn't Western.
Romans destroyed the temple in Jerusalem, where the records would have been kept

Your personal connection might be personal, or religious, but I doubt you will find a genealogical connection through WikiTree.

(Edit was to correct typo.)

I don't think you will ever find out

Good honest question probably asked by people from the beginning of time. I'm going to go out an a limb here and reply as not really giving an answer everyone is probably going to agree with, and that's okay! Just my opinion/belief, and I know not everyone will see it this way. I believe the life of Jesus is probably detailed and explained best by whatever religious material you desire to read, agree with, and believe in. Finding a personal connection to Jesus is a spiritual one between you and Jesus. Just me thinking out loud....

Thank you for thinking out loud, Michael. I would not have happened upon this query section had it not been for my 'thoughtful searching' on how I might be physically connected to Christ Jesus this very morning. heart

Your answer to this question is not unlike the majority of those found on WikiTree and definitely aids in the mission of connecting the human family. I believe that a good question and any pursuing answers should cause us to think and delve deeper ... steadily growing this single magnificent family tree!

My quest will go on for I know that finding my genealogical connection will add a new dimension to my strong spiritual connection with Jesus.

Now I am off to search the BCE & Jesus sections as indicated at the beginning of this question by Tammy Howard.

Even if we could trace accurate records back that far, we could never have a profile for Jesus, because he was born about 7 BC.  He never married, and — despite popular fiction claiming Mary of Magdala (who may have been old enough to be his mother, or even grandmother) gave birth to his daughter — he had no descendants.

You will never get a direct connection to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Any connection would be through his siblings as Jesus never married.

Also Wikitree forbids anything in the BCE era (before the year 0AD) due to a combination of computer mathematical calculation ability (registering negative numbers for easier explaining), and the asserted opinion that you can't obtain legitimate records going back to then.

I'm not saying you can't try and find your connection, just that it isn't possible on Wikitree

I would think it's "conceivable" if you could find a Jewish lineage that extends into a Davidian line that you could build a connection that would extend into Jesus' line, but as many have mentioned, any line that crosses into the BC barrier won't be built on WikiTree. If you had the fortune to find one that goes to his brothers or sisters (Mary and Joseph's children), then it's "possible" but extremely unlikely. My thought is that if those lines existed in documentation, then there would already be genealogists who would be broadly announcing them and unfortunately I've simply not seen anything along those lines anywhere.

About 30 years ago I went to a Berkeley Psychic Institute for a reading. They have these in major cities. They told me in my first life I was a woman who was personally blessed by Jesus at the Sermon on the Mount. In my second life I lived in England during medieval  times and was a female animal healer. In my third life I was a female working in a bank during the depression.
